WNCAP has moved to a new temporary location

Until August 2008
we will be located at

530 Merrimon Avenue, Suite E
Click here for map.  This is in the vicinity of Wendy's restaurant across the street from Cash Converters.

There is no client lounge or laundry facility in this location; please call ahead for any appointments.  All telephone numbers and e-mail are the same.

Look forward to the announcement of the new permanent location for WNCAP coming this fall.

Why Move?  The question is a good one; WNCAP has been at its current location since 1994, and the convenience and space has served us well.  However, we have added three staff, or Hep-C Preventions staff and a Development Director, all supported by grants, who have no offices to operate out of, and share space with others or work from home.  We have plans to add additional services for our clients, such as in-house Substance Abuse Counseling, and cannot offer any new services without additional space.

Our parking situation became critical with the sale of the Credit Union across the street.  The new owners have restricted parking in their parking lot, thus clients, staff and guests must depend on finding a parking spot on the street to access our offices.  Our one meeting space at the current location also serves as a client lounge, but if there is a need to use the space for a meeting, clients must wait for appointments in the lobby, and they do not have access to the library and other materials in the lounge.

Our new offices will provide ample on-site parking, separate client lounge and meeting room, first floor client laundry, and the opportunity to expand services to clients and the community.  We also will have the space for an outdoor patio for clients and staff to enjoy.  The new offices are on the Asheville City bus line, with a stop just across the street.  While we will be inconvenienced for a few months, moving to a temporary location while our new office are renovated, in the long run, WNCAP clients, staff and our community will be better served in our new office space.

We thank those who have helped us make this important and significant move, and trust those who are able to continue to help in the months ahead will continue to do so.

Dr. Ron Curran
Executive Director
