WNCAP Educators: there will be plenty of “age appropriate” HIV/AIDS education materials available and WNCAP Educators will be available by appointment to greet school groups, youth groups and organizations. WNCAP will also host an advocacy table – helping you to use your voice to make a difference in legislation.

WNCAP Education & Testing

The Asheville Art Museum will be showing a film entitled “Just as I am” which is a profile of and AIDS activist in WNC, was nominated for an Emmy Award. Charlotte-native Carolyn DeMeritt co-produced, co-directed, assisted in filming (with Stuart Grasberg); the film was commissioned by Hospice of Rowan County with technical assistance from WTVI -42 Public Television in 1992. The film will be shown on Sunday, November 27th in the conference room at the Museum and also on Wednesday, November 30th beginning at 1:00pm in the Museum conference room, free of charge.  
 

 

African Medical Mission: Inspired by the belief that South Africa’s poor deserve the quality healthcare available to those of means, AMM provides focused, direct medical treatment and life-enhancing social services through its Bedford Orthopedic Hospital and Itipini community programs.
