Robert Thomas

Robert Thomas was born March 18,
1956 into a musical family. His father, Milt Thomas, was a
Big Band accordionist, playing radio, television, and New
York’s finest nightclubs, Influenced by the Appalachian
Mountains, as well as personal challenges, Robert was
brought to a deeper spiritual place, both in his everyday
life and in his music. With this transformation, he began
writing songs to move the listener with a heartfelt,
passionate and highly original style |

Pastyme

Pastyme is a vocal group from
Asheville which performs a cappella music of all kinds. Even
though Pastyme has its roots in the sacred and secular music
of the High Renaissance, the group performs a cappella music
from a wide variety of literature, from classical to jazz,
for concerts, church services, and special events. The
members of Pastyme are all active in the music community of
Asheville, singing with church choirs, the opera and musical
theatre.

Cantaria

Cantaria: the Gay Men’s Chorus
of Asheville was formed in 1997 to provide gay and
gay-friendly men the opportunity to enjoy singing excellent
music together, to provide social and service opportunities,
and to foster positive spirit among the greater LGBTQ
community in Asheville and Western North Carolina. In
addition to singing for local and regional Pride events,
Cantaria has performed at UNC-A, in the St. Matthias Concert
Series, at Piccolo Spoleto Charleston, and in national GALA
festivals in Montreal and Miami; we are preparing to sing in
GALA 2012 in Denver. |
