WNCAP partnered with Until There's a Cure and Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS to offer the red ribbon merchandise below as a memento of visits to the NAMES Project AIDS Memorial Quilt at Pack Place in Asheville and in conjunction with activities leading up to World AIDS Day. The agency will continue to make these gift items available while supplies last. Please contact the office at 828-252-7489 if you are interested in purchasing an item. African Bronze Bracelet – $20.00

Hand-carved in the Ovahimba tribal tradition by villagers in Namibia, the African Bronze bracelets are typically made of recycled bronze piping cut into strips. A hammer and chisel are used to create the design and to shape them into bracelets. The bracelets are finished using sand paper and a buffing cloth. Each bracelet features a representation of the AIDS ribbon, and each is a unique work of wearable art.

Your purchase of this bracelet provides care, food, and schooling for children of this Namibian village and other areas of Africa ravaged by AIDS. Buy it for yourself or as a memorable gift. Each bracelet is a showpiece, full of meaning and depth, and worn with the hopes of eradicating this disease forever.
