The location is idyllic - in the softly
contoured countryside in Col di Pozzo situated between the lovely
villages of Montone and Promano
and nearby larger towns of Umbertide and Citta di Castello. It is in the very north
end of Umbria about 10 miles from eastern Tuscany. Rome,
Florence and Bologna may each be reached in a little more than two
hours by auto.
Apartment Girasole is a first-floor apartment with lovely rural views that is beautifully decorated and lavishly equipped. Access is via the brick staircase in the center of the building, which would once have been the entrance to the farming family's accommodation in the days when the ground floor was devoted to animal stalls and storage cellars. The stairs lead to a sunny little terrace which is a perfect spot for a morning cappuccino. The front door opens from the terrace into an entry foyer that also serves as a study, equipped with a desk for use of our guests travelling with a laptop who wish to use the broadband connection (unlimited use). Beside the entry foyer, a passage leads past a bathroom to one of the bedrooms, which has pleasant views over the gardens and pool to the countryside and up to the hill top village of Montone. Continuing through the entry foyer, one enters the light and spacious living room which has an open fireplace for cooler evenings, a large flat-screen TV and DVD player. Towards the front of the building is another bedroom with private bathroom. A brick archway, typical of Italian rural buildings, marks the entrance to the spacious country-style kitchen. Apartment Girasole is tastefully furnished and generously equipped with everything guests could require for a comfortable stay. All the furnishings are new and of excellent quality. There is ample provision of linen and towels, including pool towels. To the front of the building, the apartment has a private garden area with a terrace under a pergola with table and chairs. Guests also have use of the large swimming pool and the terraces surrounding it.
